Despite their name suggesting otherwise, Mild High Club have been quick off the mark to gift us the follow up to last year’s debut album Timeline. Announcing sophomore album Skiptracing, out 26th August on Stone Throw Records, the band have shared lead single ‘Kokopelli’ and explain that the release follows the story of a private investigator trying to understand the path of American music. The concept suggests a fast-paced adventure but this track is entirely relaxed, with loose psych treatment and blissed out tinkling piano. To keep us from slipping into a hypnotised trance, the band add distorted guitars for added edge. Catch them at London’s Moth Club on 1 November. - SJ
